The new Club Captains for 2023 are Zac Levine, Ethan Guthrie, and Charlotte Guthrie. The Committee was most impressed with all of their applications, each one with an individual focus but sharing the same goals of leading by example, upholding the club values, supporting the coaches and guiding the younger swimmers, and best of all fostering teamwork and inclusivity among all of our swimmers.
Zac and Ethan are both very experienced swimmers and know what it takes to succeed. They will build on this in their new leadership roles. Charlotte no longer swims competitively, but she still trains very hard with Gold Squad, an example of her strong commitment to the team and club, and you would have already seen Charlotte many times supporting our club nights, representing Canberra with distinction ACT Meets, and has recently become a qualified Technical Official.
We are excited to have Zac, Ethan and Charlotte as our Club Captains for 2023 and we urge you get behind them as they take on this leadership role for our proud and historic Canberra Amateur Swimming Club.
Finally, the Committee would like to thank the outgoing 2021-22 club captains, Owen Hemsworth, Evelyn Scott, Alex Revell and Taylah Guthrie for their great work during a very challenging year changing coaches and pools. Be proud of your achievements, as the Committee is proud of you and thank you for your efforts.
