Age Champions

These awards are for the swimmers who won their age group at the Club championships.  For more information about Club championships click here.

The winners receive a gold medallion or similar, as determined by the Committee each year.

Stroke Awards

There are six perpetual trophies, one for each stroke plus an open water swimmer. The swimmer who achieves the highest placement in each stroke at national or NSW state or country level receives the trophy. The recipient for each stroke will be selected based on the following objective criteria:

  • Highest placed swimmer at National (open or age), State (open or age) or Country championships wins
  • if there are no swimmers at national level, the award goes to a NSW state swimmer
  • a placing at an open meet takes precedence over a placing at an age event, eg, a 5th place at open nationals will win the award over a 2nd place at age nationals
  • if there are no swimmers at national or NSW state level, the award goes to a swimmer at NSW Country championships
  • if no swimmer achieves country level for a stroke the award will not be presented
  • for open water swimmers, only swims at national or state championships will be taken into account.
  • If 2 swimmers or more share the same placing at the same level meet the stoke award will be awarded to the highest scoring swim using the International Point Score System, Australian Age Point Score System or other appropriate system.

Age is not a barrier to this award, for example a 10 year may achieve higher placing than an older swimmer in the same stroke, ie, even if the older swimmer has a faster time it is the placing that determines the recipient.

Example: if a 10 yr old placed 10th in the 50 free at State Age and a 15 yr old placed 12th in the 50 free at at State Age, the 10 year old would win the award.

President's Award

The President alone selects a club member that they feel has contributed above and beyond to the club’s function, aims, and aspirations.

Improvement Pointscore Winners

These perpetual trophies are awarded to the male and female winners of the Club improvement point score in each age group.  For more information about the point score click here.

Fastest 100m Freestyle

These perpetual trophies are for the fastest 100m freestyle swim during the swimming year, that is, from 1 October to 30 September preceding presentation day. The fastest time from all long and short course swims are considered, without conversion. There are male and female trophies.

Note: these trophies have been awarded by CASC for over 50 years.

Coach's Awards

These awards are selected by the coaches for best attitude to training and competing and can be given to a swimmer at any level. There are perpetual trophies for these awards.

Most Improved Awards: These awards are selected by the coaches for overall improvement in both training effort and competition. There are two awards. One award is for junior swimmers and the other is for senior swimmers.

Encouragement Awards: These awards are selected by the coaches for best attitude to training and competing. These awards can be given to a swimmer at any level.

Skene Relay Perpetual Shield

At our club championships meet each year a mixed handicapped relay is conducted and the winning team are inscribed upon the Skene Perpetual Shield.

Swimmer Of The Year

Each year members of the committee nominate individual swimmers for consideration for Swimmer Of The Year and the winner is determined by vote of the committee. This award is not just about performance or level of competition but also about a swimmer’s representation of the club.
