Established on 1 December 1930, Canberra ASC is Canberra’s oldest swimming club. We have a long and rich history associated with swimming in the ACT region. Our home pool deck is at the Gungahlin Leisure Centre, with the YMCA as our affiliated training provider. Whilst our training program seeks to increase the number of individuals achieving the highest possible levels of representation, we also look to develop the abilities of swimmers across levels in an inclusive approach.
Canberra ASC continues to support local development, distance and qualifying meets with large numbers of swimmers in attendance and enjoying success. The Club continues to grow in strength with a strong group of junior swimmers now making their way into the senior ranks with some of largest teams competing at NSW Country and State Championships and Australian Age Championships.
To provide an environment that inspires swimmers to achieve their maximum potential, and through industry partnerships, deliver excellence in coaching to develop our swimmers to the best of their abilities enabling competitive success at every level.
Canberra ASC is committed to the growth of swimming in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and aims to increase the position and profile of the sport through successful partnerships with Swimming NSW, Swimming ACT and the YMCA’s Gungahlin Leisure Centre by; contributing to the effective operation of swimming in the ACT, delivering training programs to enhance the development of young swimmers and providing a safe and positive environment for all members.
