Training

Canberra ASCs home pool is at the Gungahlin Leisure Centre in the north of Canberra, close to schools in the area and accessible by light rail. Members train under the Belgravia Swim Squad Program which delivers coaching across Bronze, Silver and Gold levels catering for swimmers who are transitioning from learn to swim to those who are competing at the local, state and national level. Depending on the swimmers level, morning and afternoon sessions are available. Training fees are paid weekly directly to Belgravia Leisure, with a separate annual membership fee payable to Canberra ASC when joining to the Club.

Gold Squad
Training Fees: $43.50 per week

    Gold Squad is for swimmers looking to compete at senior state or national level

    Squad entry is determined by the Head Squad Coach

    Equipment needed includes kickboard, pull buoy, snorkel, small hand paddles, fins and a kit bag.

 Silver Squad
Training Fees: $38.50 per week

    Silver squad is for young swimmers who demonstrate efficient technique as well as endurance. At this level swimmers should be preparing for qualifying and country level meets.

    Swimmers are required to swim 50m of each stroke utilizing efficient technique and meet time cycle requirements as determined by the Head Squad Coach.

Bronze Squad
Training Fees: $32.50 per week

    Bronze squad offers young swimmers the opportunity to develop all four stokes and skills in preparation for school carnivals and development level swim meets

    Swimmers are required to swim 50m of each stroke utilizing efficient technique as determined by the Head Squad Coach

    Equipment needed includes kickboard, pull buoy, fins and kit bag
